Ever since “Don’t Like” took Chicago drill rap to new heights in 2012, it’s been known that producer Young Chop and rapper Chief Keef are a force to be reckoned with when they hop on a track together. On “Light Heist,” the duo gives listeners a little reminder of what they are capable of. As the title suggests, the track airs on the side of the drill sub genre, but it’s still a hard, aggressive beat thanks to additional production from Chicago Chop Squad producer Chris Barnett. You can hear Chief Keef sounding re-energized on “Light Heist” along with a snippet of a new track with Mike Will titled “In My Mode,” a long-awaited sign that Keef may be on the brink of a comeback.
Keef and Barnett released another track yesterday, titled “Driver.”
