Kyle Bent just dropped his latest mixtape, Dreams of a God, and as the title suggests, the young Boston rapper holds nothing back on this project. After gaining momentum with his previous project, Chevies & Chakras, Bent has followed up with a personal set of tracks where he simultaneously reminisces on the past and boldly proclaims his own success.
One of the most personal tracks on this project is “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.” While pondering all of the benefits of the high life, Bent asks himself whether wealth can be attained without losing yourself. In stark contrast to the energetic opening track, “Supplier,””Wouldn’t It Be Nice” demonstrates that Bent can rap introspectively just as well as he can rap aggressively. Today, it’s rare that a rapper can standout based on their voice alone, without auto-tune or memorable ad libs to elevate their flow. However, on this track and throughout Dreams of a God, Bent does exactly that by delivering his rhymes with conviction.
